Course description The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of language teaching methodology, and encourages them to become critically reflective practitioners, as they develop their own teaching approaches based on the range of methodologies available. It is a place for you to review what you have learned, what you think, and what you believe; a place for you to investigate current thinking, develop a deeper understanding and truly research valid, cutting –edge resources and ideas; then to personalize and come to workable conclusions that you explicitly plan to implementation in your future classroom. Course Requirements, Grading and Specific Polices Attendance and Participation – This class is a Professional Learning Community and attendance is mandatory. Upon the second absence a contract for attendance will be initiated. Failure to keep the contract will result in dismissal from the class. The student is required to inform the professor before class if he/she will be absent. 2. References and Citations – In profiles and other assignment citations and references must be given for ALL borrowed ideas, images, facts, stylistic phrasing, or quoted material. Use APA style.
